The City Council presents to national media the offer of cultural, tourist, and sports festivals that will take place from October to January of next year.

Mérida has been one of the cities of reference at a national and international level for its culture, tourist potential, and venue of important sporting events, as announced by the Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada during the presentation of the Cultural and Tourist Festivals that will take place from October to January of next year.
Before national media in Mexico City, the Mayor highlighted that events such as the Festival de las Ánimas, La Noche Blanca, the Mérida Fest, and the Marathon of the city promote the cultural identity and warmth that distinguishes the people of Mérida.
“From the Mérida City Council we seek to strengthen social cohesion through cultural spaces, which give identity and unity, spaces in which we all agree, the north, the south, the east, the west, the center, the police stations, and today those who visit us from other states and countries, because ultimately culture is fundamental for human development and societies,” said Cecilia Patrón.

Accompanied by the Director of Citizen Communication, Juan Manuel Arrigunaga, and the head of the Tourism Unit, Armando Casares, the details of each cultural, tourist, and sports event were presented, as well as the lodging capacity and interconnectivity that the city has for its visitors.
Mayor Cecilia Patron Laviada highlighted the First-class tourist connectivity of the state capital.
Mérida has eight international flights by air. We have connections to Miami, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Toronto, Los Angeles, Havana, and Guatemala.
As for domestic flights, the Yucatan capital is interconnected with 13 cities with various flights such as Villahermosa, Cancun, and Mexico City, to both airports, AIFA and the Mexico City International Airport. In addition to direct flights to Guadalajara, Monterrey, Veracruz, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Toluca, Queretaro, Leon, Guanajuato, Puebla, and Oaxaca.
