A Matiz compact-type car was involved in a rear-end collision caused by a dump truck on the outer side of the Mérida Periférico, near the junction of Calle 86 towards Dzununcán.
The compact was moving along the outer lanes, and upon reaching the junction with Calle 86, the driver took the right-hand side with preferential passage. where the dump truck was circulating, and did not yield the right of way, so the truck collided against the rear of the Matiz and left it partially destroyed.
The driver suffered injuries and had to be treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital immediately.
Agents of the SSP and traffic experts arrived at the site to take charge of everything, asking for support from insurance companies and a crane to tow away what was left of the compact cart.
