Volaris, Viva Aerobus and Aeromexico informed their passengers that due to the effects of Hurricane Milton, 28 flights to Yucatan have been cancelled.
The Mexican airlines Volaris, Viva Aerobus and Aeromexico informed that, due to the effects caused by Hurricane Milton, 28 flights to and from the International Airport of Merida, Yucatan, have been cancelled so far.
Volaris indicated that eight of its operations were affected, including flights from the air terminals of Mexico City, Guadalajara and the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA).
“Due to the passage of Hurricane Milton, we have impacts on our operations to and from the International Airport of Merida. For us, safety is the most important thing, so we will resume operations when conditions allow it,” said Volaris.
Aeromexico, for its part, cancelled 12 flights to Merida and activated a policy of protection for passengers.
The airline explained that this policy will apply to trips scheduled between October 7 and 8, with a deadline to reschedule and carry out the flight until October 12, 2024.
Viva Aerobus also cancelled eight flights to Mérida, with affected routes from Mexico City, Veracruz, Villahermosa and Monterrey.
Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport (AICM) also warned that some takeoff and landing operations to and from cities in the Gulf of Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula could be affected by the hurricane.
Airport authorities recommended that users remain attentive to civil protection instructions and notices from their airlines.
