Preparations for the Day of the Dead activities have already begun in beautiful Valladolid with maintenance work at the cemetery. This year the Hanal Pixán festival will be held at the Zací cenote.
VALLADOLID, YUCATAN.— In the previous administration, the festival was held at the entrance of the cemetery, and in the park located in front two altars were installed, one for children and the other for adults.
A group of actors came out of the cemetery to represent the arrival of the souls going to the altars to eat the offerings.
Then a Vaquería was held on the terrace of the park, in downtown Valladolid.
On this occasion, the Hanal Pixán festival is going to take place inside the premises of the Zací cenote, where it is expected that several schools will install their altars as was done back in the 2015-2018 administration of the Morena member Alpha Tavera Escalante.
