Hotel occupancy in Yucatán registered 47% in September, with greater movement in Mérida where 49% was reported, while in the interior of the state, it reached 29%, reported the president of the Mexican Association of Hotels in Yucatán (AMHY), Juan José Martin Pacheco in a statement.
And he explains that in the interior of Yucatán, Izamal was the favorite municipality to stay and spend the night in the entity, since it surpasses Valladolid and Chichén Itzá.
The figures obtained in September, 47%, are one point less than those registered in 2023 when 48% was achieved, said the hoteliers leader.
In the case of Mérida, he specified, that this year’s figure, 49%, shows a decrease of two points compared to last year, when there was a 51% increase in occupied hotel rooms.
The business leader explained that in destinations in the interior of the state, a slight growth was observed, 29%, one point above 2023, when 28% was quantified.
Izamal, the favorite to stay in the interior of Yucatán, surpasses Valladolid and Chichén Itzá.
Hotel occupancy was: Izamal was 39.35%; Valladolid registered 28.35%; and Chichén Itzá reached 12.21%. On the beaches of Yucatán, the report was 35%
Martín Pacheco noted that the information presented is a sampling carried out in 104 hotels affiliated with the AMHY with a total of 6,025 rooms.
