When announcing the realization of the eighteenth edition of La Noche Blanca and the opening of the Call for Mérida Fest 2025, Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada specified that in Mérida culture strengthens identity and is a factor in keeping society united.
In the case of Mérida Fest, he pointed out that the call is now open, so he invited local artists to participate in this program, which will take place from January 5 to 26, 2025. Artists who wish to participate must send their proposals to the address [email protected]. Nine million pesos will be allocated for this program.
“It is going to be an extraordinary Merida Fest, simply with another look that may allow us a broader enjoyment of what is offered,” said Cecilia Patrón. “Our commitment has always been to promote culture and, above all, bring it closer to the people, and today what we are looking for is for local talent, which is a lot, to have greater opportunities to participate, to have public resources, to present extraordinary projects that are for the enjoyment of the people of Merida,” he stressed.

Accompanied by Karla Berrón Cámara, director of Identity and Culture, and José Manuel Peniche Marenco, councilor president of the Culture Commission, she specified that in the case of the 18th edition of the White Night, they would seek to carry out more activities on the eve of La Noche Blanca to the neighborhood and communities of Mérida.
“The eve is going to be in the center, but we are also going to bring it closer to the neighborhoods, to the people, which was our commitment to seek social justice and a level playing field for everyone,” he mentioned.
La Noche Blanca will occur on November 30, while the day before will be on the 29th. The municipal funds for carrying out this program will be 5 million pesos.
The most recent Noche Blanca was last May 24 and 25, with more than 250 events in the streets of the Historic Center of Mérida. This free event offered exhibitions, film series, visual installations, and acrobatic shows.
