On the afternoon of Saturday, October 19th, more than 1,500 women marched against Breast Cancer in Merida.

Women’s health is a priority for the State Government, which is why this Saturday the “Walk and Health Fair Against Breast Cancer 2024” was held, which included the presence of stands where passes were given out for mammograms, Pap tests, detection of other diseases and informative and awareness talks focused on the early detection of this disease. In addition, an activation and walk dynamic was carried out with great success from the General Salvador Alvarado stadium to the Monument to the Fatherland and back.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and the honorary president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Yucatán, teacher Wendy Méndez Naal, led the event attended by more than 1,500 women.

The Governor stated that health caravans will be implemented to go to remote Yucatecan communities so that Mayan women can receive free services for the early detection of diseases.

For her part, teacher Wendy Méndez Naal stated that the DIF Yucatán puts into practice the guidelines and spirit of public service, such as activities for the prevention and care of Breast Cancer.
