Double cruise ship arrival boosts tourism in Progreso and strengthens local economy
The port of Progreso experienced an intense day of tourism with the arrival of two international cruise ships that reaffirmed Yucatan’s position as an attractive destination for global tourism. Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas and Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Breeze arrived with a total of 6,288 visitors, boosting economic activity in the area.
The Brilliance of the Seas arrived with 2,246 passengers and 847 crew members, while the Carnival Breeze disembarked with 4,042 passengers and 1,352 crew members. This large number of visitors generated a significant economic spillover in the port, benefiting local businesses and services.
