On the morning of October 15, 11 miles from the port of El Cuyo, the lifeless body of a man was found. The authorities are investigating whether there are any of the castaways lost during the passage of Hurricane Milton off the coast of Yucatán.
According to the information collected, around 8 in the morning, when the fishermen were going out to fish for octopus, they found the body of a person floating in the sea.
The incident was immediately reported to the Port Captain’s Office and the protocol was initiated by the maritime authorities.
From 9 in the morning of the same day, a Navy aircraft carried out overflights in the area of the discovery, in search of signs or indications of the other people reported missing. Navy agents and vessels carried out maneuvers to rescue the body. Meanwhile, authorities began to arrive at the sheltered port awaiting the arrival of the body.
