The events occurred on the morning of Wednesday, October 9, when the cargo vehicle was traveling on Avenida Mérida 2000.
When crossing Avenida Jacinto Canek, the driver pulled to the right when he saw that fire was coming out of the engine and immediately got out to call 911.
Little by little, the flames spread until they engulfed the cabin, so nothing could be done.
Minutes later, the firefighters arrived and attacked the fire until it was extinguished, but it was too late for the driver and passenger area, as it was totally destroyed.
No one was hurt, and the vehicle operator called his company so that, with the help of the insurance, the damage could be assessed and a tow truck could be requested.
