With the arrival this Wednesday afternoon of the ship “Neldy” with its four crew members safe and sound, and the appearance of the boat “Peyucsa 13” with its four fishermen, only two boats are missing with seven sailors.

The ship “Neldy”, owned by Donato Gonzalo Baeza Poolo, arrived at Progreso port at 6:30 pm.

On the other hand, “Peyucsa 13”, still underway, would arrive at 8 or 9 pm on Wednesday, October 9, at its base at the La Caleta dock.

According to reports, that highlighted boat was in the area of the Alacranes reef, where they took shelter, and when the bad weather subsided they began the journey towards Yucalpetén.

There is still no news of the “Halcón 1”, in which the fishermen José Luis Junco Hernández travel, as skipper; Aristeo Abreu Ulloa, Javier Francisco Hernández López, and Jesús Manuel García Brito.

The “Peyucsa 12” is also missing three fishermen: José Juan Ulloa García, Lázaro Esquivel Castellanos, and Marcos García.

On the morning of this Wednesday Magda Karina Aguilar Zetina, owner of the “Halcon I”, and Arturo Cáceres explained that Saturday, October 5, in the afternoon, was the last time they had communicated with the crew.

That day the boat was seen by fishermen from the boat “Montepío”.

Relatives of the missing have remained in La Caleta since Monday waiting for news from the fishermen and asking them to go out in search of them.

The boats have radio communication equipment, and according to Magda Aguilar, they set sail towards the eastern coast to fish for grouper.

The fishermen would be in the area of San Felipe and Río Lagartos, according to what they informed the state, naval, and municipal authorities whom they turned to for the search and rescue of the three boats.

They were informed that a small plane left at 9 a.m. to fly over the area where the “Halcon I” was allegedly seen, which could be adrift or sheltered on an island. Arturo Cáceres explained that the overflight covers from the Alacranes reef, where they could have sailed, and later turned to the eastern area.

He also reported that as soon as atmospheric conditions allow, seven boats will set sail from La Caleta to join the search for the three boats.
