The most recent ranking of mayors, prepared by the company Rankings of Mexico in Mexican cities with more than 600 thousand inhabitants, shows three municipalities that stand out for the citizen’s perception of their management.

Cecilia Patrón Laviada, from Mérida, tops the list with 70.1% approval. He is followed by Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, from Tijuana, with 69.43%, and in third place Adrián de la Garza Santos, from Monterrey, with 68.1%.

Cecilia Patrón Laviada assumed the municipal presidency of Mérida on September 1, 2024, so she has been in office for approximately two and a half months.

Ismael Burgueño Ruiz was sworn in as mayor of Tijuana on September 30, 2024, so he has been in office for about a month and a half.

Adrián de la Garza Santos assumed the mayorship of Monterrey on October 1, 2024, so he has been in office for approximately a month and a half.

The measurement included 14,800 robotic telephone interviews, distributed in 400 per city, with a margin of error of 4.5% and a confidence level of 95%.

Criteria were evaluated such as citizen satisfaction with security issues, public services (lighting, cleaning, paving, drinking water, parks, and gardens), and perception of corruption in different agencies.

The complete list shows significant variations. While the first three exceed 68% approval, cities like Culiacán and Chimalhuacán register levels below 45%.

Among the first 10 places are also the municipal presidents of León, Ciudad Juárez, Naucalpan, Guadalajara, Querétaro, and Puebla, with percentages between 65.5% and 66.82%.

The study carried out between November 12 and 19, 2024, showed indicators such as citizen satisfaction with security, public services, and perception of corruption.
