TIZIMÍN, YUCATAN., November 12, 2024.- Citizens tied a man to a wooden telephone company pole whom they discovered trying to break into a property on 51st Street between 30th and 32nd in the San José Nabalam neighborhood of that city.
The residents captured the suspect last night when he was hiding on a roof; they took him down and tied him to a pole. Afterward, they notified the Municipal Police.
Upon arrival, the agents untied the suspect and put him in the patrol car to take him to a detention center.
Locals warned the suspect that they would lynch him if they ever discovered him trying to break into a house in the area again.
“Now it was just a warning, next time it will be worse,” they yelled while the officers were transferring the thief to the Municipal Patrol.
In this case, the detainee did not show signs of a possible assault at the hands of his captors.
The Police said that they do everything possible to minimize the cases of burglary, but since there are no complainants when the criminals are arrested, they are released after serving their hours of arrest, and almost always continue with their illegal acts.
