The Dueños del Monte (Owners of the Forest) exhibition opened, authored by the artist Pedro Tec Chim, which has a charitable cause since all proceeds go to the group Los Mayas Eternos.
“This is a set of black and white photos that portrays the community life of the Mayan people, the objective is to raise Christmas funds and to give shoes to the childhoods of the Mayan communities.”
Although they look like pencil drawings at first glance, there are 20 digital photographs of different formats, and the prices range from 2,500 to 11,000 pesos.
He expressed that so far they have delivered approximately 1,500 pairs of shoes and they hope that with this exhibition they can raise a significant amount to buy more, in addition to seeking to buy toys to deliver to children in the next holiday season.
“We intend to bring this aid to the south of Mérida, Celestún, and the east of the state, to distribute these shoes, but also to bring other types of aid, depending on the needs that we detect in the area.”
