The 40th edition of the San Silvestre Race will take place on December 31st from 6:30 am with start and finish at the “Salvador Alvarado” stadium.
This athletic event will have a 5-kilometer route, continuing with this tradition that began with Lázaro Méndez Cauich, who will be honored posthumously this year.
Armín Lizama Córdoba, director of the Sports Institute of Yucatán, presented the event’s call accompanied by other officials.
The categories to participate are free, sub-master, master, veterans, veterans plus, and wheelchair.
The cost is 200 pesos per participant, and you have to register at the “Salvador Alvarado” stadium.
The money raised will be used to buy gifts and organize a get-together for children from low-income communities.
The first 3 places will be awarded, and a raffle of items and medals will be held for the first 200 runners to cross the finish line.
A commemorative shirt will also be awarded to the first 150 athletes to cross the finish line.
