The Mexican Hotel Association in Yucatan predicts a good end of the year for hotel occupancy
Hotel occupancy in Mérida could close the year with positive figures, estimated the Mexican Association of Hotels in Yucatán (AMHY), driven by the increase in the arrival of national and international flights that will strengthen activity in the tourism sector, optimism that arises after an analysis of the results obtained in September, when the average occupancy in the state was 47 percent.
The president of AMHY, Juan José Martín Pacheco, recalled that in September hotel occupancy in Mérida reached 49 percent, which shows a decrease of two points compared to last year, when there was a 51 percent increase in occupied rooms.
In the interior of the state, occupancy reached 29 percent, showing slight growth compared to the 28 percent reported in 2023. Izamal positioned itself as the most active destination outside of Mérida and confirmed its popularity among visitors.
