A suspect accused of assaulting a man in Progreso is sentenced to fifteen months in prison.
For the crime of injuries caused to a man in Progreso which by their nature take more than 15 days to heal, the accused J.A.R.G. will serve one year and three months in prison, after being found criminally responsible for these actions, following the presentation of evidence by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
The events of this case occurred on July 18 of this year, when the now guilty party was walking in the streets of downtown Progreso when, for no apparent reason, he approached a passerby whom he began to beat up.
As a result of the events, the victim suffered the previously mentioned injuries, being assisted by police officers, who arrested the aggressor, as stated in criminal case 63/2024.
Following the consent of the parties and after the work carried out by the litigation prosecutors to defend the case, the Judge issued the guilty verdict and the prison sentence, as well as the payment of a fine of 35 days.
