Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena reiterated his commitment to planting more than 1.2 million trees in six years.

To contribute to the construction of a greener and more sustainable Yucatán, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena joined the 2024 Reforestation Campaign of the Grupo Promotora Residencial Real Estate company, which on this occasion has the goal of planting 3 thousand trees.

Accompanied by the general director of the group, Rolando Peniche Martín, and the mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, the governor led the planting of the first trees in the “Andria” residential development, located north of the city.

In the framework of the 45th anniversary of Grupo Promotora Residencial, Díaz Mena reiterated his campaign commitment to plant, during the next 6 years of his administration, two trees for each vote received, which means that the government of the Mayan Renaissance has the goal of reaching 1 million 260 thousand trees.

“In these 6 years, our commitment must be maintained in favor of a prosperous Yucatan, a green Yucatan, promoting reforestation actions, environmental education, and care of the environment,” he stressed.

Before Armando Palma Vargas and Malena Palma Vargas, members of the Board of Directors of Grupo Promotora Residencial, the head of the state Executive recognized that the planting of these 3 thousand endemic specimens of the region contributes to improving our environment and raising awareness in children and young people about the care of our surroundings.
