The municipality of Tekit, known for its tradition in the manufacture of guayaberas and its rich local culture, is taking an important step to position itself as one of the main tourist destinations in Yucatán.
For this reason, the Tekit Christmas Fair, Capital of the Guayabera, Mérida, and Tekit edition, was presented at a press conference, as well as the Visit Tekit platform, which aims to strengthen the local tourist offer and attract visitors from around the world throughout the year.
During the presentation at the National Chamber of the Clothing Industry (Canaive), Yucatán delegation, there were personalities from the Government, the tourism industry, and the business sector, as well as the 44 producers of Tekit.
The event presented the dates, times, and activities that will take place during the aforementioned Christmas Fair, and the Visit Tekit platform, which seeks to promote local tourism products, from the guayabera to the most emblematic traditions of the municipality.
Tekit Guayabera Fair in Mérida: from December 16 to 23, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, in Santa Ana Park, with the participation of 24 local producers.
Tekit Guayabera Fair in Tekit: from December 14 to 24 and from December 27 to 30, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, in the main square, with 44 producers.
During those days, producers will be offering nearly 40 thousand garments for the whole family, which will boost the economy of more than 200 families that depend on the making of guayaberas and typical clothing, as well as the production of crafts.
