On Wednesday, November 13th, the Ibero-American Business Meeting of the Méridas of the World was inaugurated in the state capital, to continue twinning the cities that share a name, but also interests in collaboration and development.
The mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, stressed that this event is the perfect opportunity to strengthen business ties between both cities, always privileging the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.
“We are looking for the tool to create jobs in search of social justice, in search of creating an equal floor for everyone, and that you are here opens a door so that more Meridans can grow and have an opportunity to expand their jobs and businesses.”
For his part, the president of the Business Platform of the Méridas of the World, Jorge Gruart Vila, said that the work among the Méridas has been going on for many years, and stressed that there is an interest in Yucatecan gastronomy,
“We are interested in installing the Academy of Gastronomy of Yucatán (AGY) in Extremadura since we consider that Yucatecan gastronomy is of great relevance and very popular in Spain.” The event will last three days and the venue is the Olimpo Cultural Center, where there will be exhibitors of services and products from both Méridas to strengthen small and medium-sized businesses.
