In the early morning hours of this Tuesday, December 10th, a fire was reported in an abandoned car on a piece of land in the municipality of Uman, which caused the mobilization of emergency services.
Locals reported to the authorities that an abandoned vehicle was on fire on a piece of land located on 9th Street by 32nd in the San Lázaro neighborhood of Umán.
Agents of the Municipal Police of Umán arrived at the scene to verify the report and confirmed that a white compact car was burning. Immediately, the agents requested the support of the Fire Department personnel to control and extinguish the fire.
Unit 883 and truck 807 of the SSP Fire Department arrived at the scene, which controlled and extinguished the fire, the causes of which are still being investigated.
The authorities reported only material damage, there were no injuries.
One of the witnesses commented that this was not the first time a fire had occurred in that place. He explained that the vehicles found on that land are the property of a man known as “El Chino,” who keeps them as scrap metal.
