Accidentally, a woman was injured with a knife while walking in the center of Mérida, where she was treated by municipal first responders and transferred to a private clinic for treatment.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 3 at 2 in the afternoon on 52nd Street between 65 and 63, in the first square of Mérida and near the market area, where the woman went to buy ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats.
The woman, accompanied by her daughter, was walking in the area when the tip of a new knife broke part of the bag in which it was stored. The pressure caused the object to rub against the woman’s leg and in a sudden movement it stuck near her knee.
The woman, originally from Dzilam, screamed in pain and told her daughter what happened, so they immediately called 911 for help.
Within minutes, several municipal police officers arrived at the scene, requesting the help of a paramedic, who assessed the woman and told her that it was necessary to transfer her to a hospital. There, the lifeguard put some bandages on him and they waited for a Red Cross ambulance, in which they took the injured man to a hospital.
