Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada inaugurated the Municipal English Academy and Playroom in the area, fulfilling her commitment to promoting education and community development to improve the quality of life.
With this inauguration, the Mayor reaffirms her promise to the people of Mérida to bring better opportunities so that they can grow and prosper.
“This is how we have been transforming the south of Mérida, bringing social justice to all corners of the “White City” is a priority of this City Council, and for this to be possible, spaces must be created where citizens can grow and develop fully,” she said.
The playroom and the academy offer learning and recreational spaces for the children and youth of the city. The Municipal English Academy, in particular, seeks to provide tools so that students can access better job and academic opportunities in the future.
“Education is key to progress and competitiveness in a globalized world. “It is proven that those who speak a second language earn up to four times more,” said the Mayor. “We want to ensure that citizens have access to tools that allow them to grow and prosper,” she said.
Cecilia commented that “as a servant and ally of the people of Mérida, I want to tell them that this path alone can open a world of possibilities for any age; opportunities that, as a City Council, we guarantee with social justice and quality education within reach of all.
