December begins with the arrival of cold front 11 to Yucatán, where it will cause drizzle and light to moderate rain, according to the state Civil Protection (Procivy).
Procivy points out that the rain will be light in the morning and occasionally moderate between 12:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon, initially in coastal municipalities of the state and the interior such as Mérida, Motul, Izamal, Tinum, Tekax, Chemax, Tizimín, and Valladolid.
Then they will gradually be felt in Buctzotz, Sotuta, Homún, and Tzucacab, but in the rest of Yucatán, the presence of light rain is not ruled out either.
The atmosphere will be mild to warm during the day, with maximum temperatures of 80 to 89°F, and cool during dawn on Monday, December 2, with minimum temperatures of 60 to 64°F in other municipalities and 66 to 69°F in the coastal zone.
On the other hand, Civil Protection of Mérida reports that at 6 a.m. this Sunday, cold front 11 was already extending over the northeast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Its presence is expected to cause light rains to occasional showers in the morning and afternoon in the municipality of Mérida, as well as gusts of wind of up to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Yucatán agrees that light and scattered rains are expected this Sunday in much of the region due to the arrival of the cold front.
Likewise, he points out that an increase in wind speed and a gradual decrease in temperatures is expected.
