After a seven-month voyage in which it visited 12 ports in nine countries around the world, the “Cuauhtémoc” School Ship, the most emblematic of the Navy (Semar), arrived this Saturday, December 14th, at the Mexican port of Acapulco, Guerrero.

Sailing, the so-called “Ambassador and Knight of the Seas” arrived with 93 cadets from the Heroic Naval Military School, who deepened their maritime knowledge, and brought Mexican culture and the message of peace and goodwill of the people of Mexico to the world.

The ship was received by the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles, who recalled that on board this sailboat, “as a cadet, I learned valuable life lessons between waves and sails, forging my character, discipline and leadership, qualities that define us as Mexican sailors at the service of our nation.

“To the crew and cadets: welcome home! Their journey is a testimony of honor, duty, loyalty, and patriotism towards Mexico,” he said.

The cadets were also received by their families in the naval zone of the port of Acapulco.

The ship visited ports in countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, and Tahiti, sailing the seas and natural settings of these nations. It lasted 222 days, of which 72% were at sea.
