Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena, together with his wife and honorary president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Yucatán, Mestra Wendy Méndez Naal, inaugurated tonight the Christmas Village in La Plancha Park.
With this event, the Governor indicated, the beginning of Christmas is marked, as one of the most anticipated times of the year, in addition to being a space where everyone can share the joy, unity, and hope that this season represents.
“Family, solidarity,y, and love for others characterize this time of the year, which means an opportunity to strengthen the ties that unite us as a community, reach out to those who need it most, and renew the commitment of our administration to Yucatán,” said the governor.
He thanked the team of workers from different state agencies that made this show possible, which will be a meeting point for Yucatecan families, as well as a reminder of the importance of staying together.
He explained that the Christmas Village includes the show Gran Fiesta del Polo Norte, which will be presented on Saturdays and Sundays at 7 pm. He added that the telephone line 999 930 3100 was enabled at the Government Palace so that interested schools that have a nativity play or Christmas show can perform in this space for all the public that visits the park.
“The Christmas Village is a symbol of love and unity for all Yucatecans,” said Díaz Mena.
