Netflix highlighted through an image one of the hidden details of “Cobra Kai”, the series starring William Zabka and Ralph Macchio, in which a “dojo” from Mérida, Yucatán appears as the representative of Mexico in the international Sekai Taikai karate competition.

The followers of the series, which has in its youthful cast Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, and Mary Mouser; witnessed in the second part of the last season a fierce competition between dojos, which gave way to new characters.

Being an international competition, the Sekai Taikai brought together countries such as Russia, the United States, Spain, Ireland, and Mexico as one of the best exponents of karate worldwide.

Netflix thus presented Los Escorpiones Voladores, from Mérida, Yucatán, as the representatives of Mexico in the competition.

The series that brought back to the screen the rivalry between Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), presented the first two parts of its final season in 2024 and will say goodbye to its fans on February 13, 2025, with five episodes.
