A man and a woman were attacked with a machete by another man in a fight that occurred on a property in the El Roble neighborhood, in the south of Merida. Both victims were seriously injured, and one of them died from the injuries.
The events occurred around 5 a.m. this Friday, November 29th, on a property located on 41st Street, where a man of approximately 45 years of age, identified as Wilberth “N”, lives.
A man known in the area as Manolo “N” and a woman arrived at the place, to ingest alcoholic beverages and toxic substances.
At one point, and under the influence of alcohol, the three began to argue for unknown reasons. The argument escalated to physical aggression until the owner of the property took out a machete and attacked his “guests.”
During the fight, Wilberth ruthlessly dealt several machete blows, causing serious injuries to both. Manolo suffered severe injuries, including the amputation of a hand, the mutilation of a toe, and cuts on different parts of the body. The woman, on the other hand, was injured in one of her hands and managed to flee the scene, according to next-door neighbors.
SSP paramedics went to the scene to provide first aid to the man, who was later transferred to the hospital in critical condition. According to unofficial sources, he died in the hospital.
Agents of the Public Security Secretariat arrived at the scene, cordoned off the property, took note of the events, and notified the personnel of the State Investigation Police (PEI) and the State Attorney General’s Office.
It is known that the aggressor fled the scene and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
