A man died in the forest of Kancabdzonot. municipality of Yaxcabá, apparently from a shotgun blast.
According to the report, the man was found dead by his father-in-law, with whom he went hunting, but when he noticed that he had not returned, he went into the woods and found him with a shotgun blast.
The man immediately called the emergency number 911 to request support.
There were also other hunters at the scene, who were questioned by the officers and handed over a total of eight weapons for the relevant investigations.
It will be up to the authorities to determine whether it was an accident or whether a crime should be pursued.
