The Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ) is preparing to launch a learning platform for travel agents from the United States so that they can stay up to date with the latest news and market the Mexican Caribbean.

Andrés Martínez, director of the CPTQ, explained that the online platform will work as an “e-learning program”, to resume a project that was done many years ago and was paused. The start-up project will begin focused on the US market in 2025.platform

He explained that the platform will serve as a higher education institution in which the agents will be going through different levels and thus become experts. This will allow attracting more tourists in specific segments and provide them with a greater experience. He recalled that 80% of the visitors who come to Quintana Roo are from the United States and Canada, therefore the greatest efforts are focused on those market segments.

For 2025, the budget they expect is 700 million pesos, for campaigns, alliances, and promotion in strategic media to keep the destinations of the Mexican Caribbean in the minds of travelers.

The resources would be similar to what was received in 2024 which triggered participation in fairs, alliances, and a new image. They will maintain the promotional campaigns under the banner of the New Era of the Mexican Caribbean, focusing on actions to promote luxury tourism and attract tourists with greater purchasing power.
