With eight flights from Mérida to the east coast of the United States, through the Viva Aerobus airline, there will be a direct connection from the capital of Yucatán to Los Angeles, California, which represents the first time they are connected, at the beginning of this winter season, revealed the Director of Regional Airports of Grupo ASUR, Héctor Navarrete Muñoz.
He added that there is an excellent outlook and, in the case of this airline, which has its base of operations in Mérida: “it has scheduled for this winter some very interesting flights that have never been offered from this city, which are flights to Los Angeles, California, to the west coast of the United States, -which I consider an important connection- because many Yucatecans are living in Los Angeles who want to come to spend their holidays here in Mérida and there are also many Yucatecans who go on trips and Los Angeles is an extraordinary destination.”
In addition, from Los Angeles, with this route, you can connect to any place in Asia, such as Hawaii and more, because it is an airport with extraordinary connectivity. Navarrete Muñoz said that the winter flights will be eight operations that will operate on December 18 and 25, as well as January 1 and 8. He indicated that the first occupancy is practically full, it is a departure flight that will be next Wednesday.
He pointed out that Viva Aerobús is the airline with the most destinations from Mérida Yucatán and this new destination joins the international connectivity it handles to the United States, with Miami and Orlando, on direct flights in times of one and a half hours to Miami and one hour and 45 in Orlando.
It has 15 connections from Mérida: Havana, Bajío, Guadalajara, Mexico, Monterrey, Puebla, Querétaro, Santa Lucía, Toluca, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz, Villahermosa, Miami, Orlando and this new one.
The director of Vivaerobus also said that the high season at the airport will begin on the 12th, because many people come from Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, and they expect full flights.
