Two fishermen were rescued by members of the Mexican Navy Secretariat (Semar) because the engine of their boat broke down and they could not return to this port.
Sailors from the Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance unit (Ensar) went 76 nautical miles west of the Yucalpetén police station due to the fishermen’s call for help via radio; In addition, they were facing a cold front.
The naval officers towed the fishermen and they were treated by a doctor because they had been at sea for more than 12 hours.
Upon confirming that they did not have any symptoms that could affect their health, the fishermen withdrew. The authorities are calling on the fishing community to check the mechanical conditions of their engines before going fishing, especially in the face of cold fronts.
