The animals appeared dead on a street in the San Antonio Xluch neighborhood.
A strong operation was carried out in the south of the city of Merida on Wednesday, January 23, due to the mass poisoning of dogs and cats.
Residents of 181st Street (between 80th and 82nd) in the San Antonio Xluch neighborhood reported several bodies of pets (four dogs and two cats).
They immediately requested the intervention of the State Investigation Police, which showed up to begin the investigations for this case that until now is classified as animal abuse.
It should be noted that the prison sentence for causing the death of an animal is from six months to five years, plus aggravating factors.
Some bodies appeared lying on the street and others inside the houses.
A unit of the Forensic Veterinary Service arrived at the scene to remove the bodies.
