A man who entered a secondary school in Mérida without authorization last Tuesday, January 14, posing as a teacher and psychologist, was arrested on Friday, January 17, for attacking state police who tried to interview him about the accusations against him.
Parents and educational authorities denounced the individual for putting the integrity of the students at risk.
As soon as they became aware of the facts, elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) assigned to the State Investigative Police (PEI) began investigating in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
The agents and prosecutors located the man, José Alberto T. M., 33 years old, originally from Izamal, Yucatán.
When they wanted to interview him, he attacked them with blows and bites on their hands, arms, and other parts of the body, for which he was controlled and taken to the public jail.
Upon arriving at the jail, the man told the police he felt bad. Following the action protocols, paramedics treated him and took him to the hospital under custody.
He was later placed before the Public Ministry for attacks and injuries to public servants.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the FGE and the SSP continue to collect evidence from parents and school administrators to integrate the investigation folder, based on which they will request an arrest warrant for the facts from a control judge in high school.
