More than 100 tattoo artists from around the world, with talents from Mexican artists who master centuries-old techniques, along with many other techniques, were presented for the tenth edition of the Expo Tatuaje 2025.
On this occasion, the Expo will take place on February 1 and 2 at the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Center in Mérida.
The event will feature styles such as the Japanese “Tebori,” which is a traditional tattoo technique from the Asian country and is highly complex because it is done with the help of a guide and by hand.
There will also be shows by groups such as “Los Mayucas,” “Sabrosura Sound System,” and “disc jockeys” who will be mixing Argentine Cumbias Villeras on vinyl records, as well as live music groups of the same genre, and the presentation of Dj Aztek, known for collaborating with Azcino, while the main event will be on Sunday with the presentation of Inspector.
Regarding the artistic proposal, there will be graffiti artists, such as Veracruz-born El Couch, considered one of the best in his field in the entire country, who will be in a space where he will paint live.
The event representatives, Rubén Vázquez and Wilbert Tec spoke about what is expected in this next edition, taking as a starting point the origin of tattooing in the Yucatan Peninsula.
“We have to start from our ancestors, the ancient Maya, who already practiced tattooing among themselves for ritual and ornamental practices”, said the event spokesperson, Rubén Vázquez.
