Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena delivered the side streets of the inner section of the Mérida Periférico, to face the mobility challenges derived from the lack of alternative routes. These works cover 2.2 kilometers in the area adjacent to Kanasín, adding a total of 50 kilometers of side roads on this important road.

The head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure for Well-being, Alaine López Briceño, detailed the work carried out, which included earthworks, layers of asphalt concrete, storm drainage, signage, and sidewalks. The investment exceeded 60 million pesos.

These side streets, designed for short trips, seek to relieve traffic on the main road, and reduce costs and travel times, directly benefiting more than one million inhabitants. Díaz Mena emphasized that the project not only improves the infrastructure but also reflects the commitment of his administration to build a more modern and safe Yucatán.

During the inauguration, the Governor was accompanied by local officials and legislators, who highlighted the importance of these works for the connectivity and quality of life of the Yucatecans. Díaz Mena called on the population to take care of this infrastructure and assured that he would continue to promote projects that transform the reality of the region.
