The price increase came into effect yesterday, January 1, 2025, due to the annual adjustment of the IEPS, which was announced by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).
How much will the price of soft drinks increase in 2025?
The agreement published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on December 27, 2024, indicates the adjustment in the IEPS for flavored beverages, which include soft drinks.
The increase in the IEPS will raise the price of soft drinks by 1.64 pesos per liter, 7 cents more than the previous year, which was 1.57 pesos. The measure generally applies to sugary drinks, powders, syrups, or extracts to prepare sweet water.
