Moments of anguish were experienced at the corner of 65th and 54th streets in the center of the Yucatecan capital on Friday, January 10, when a 64-year-old man suffered a heart attack when getting out of a car.
Paramedics from the Municipal Police and the Red Cross quickly arrived at the scene to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers in an effort to stabilize the man.
The street was closed to traffic to facilitate emergency work and allow the transfer of the patient in an ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he receives specialized medical care; but unfortunately, the man did not survive the stroke.
Authorities urge the population to be alert to warning signs and request immediate help in the event of health emergencies.
