To optimize the transfer of passengers in the facilities of the Mérida International Airport, the incorporation of the COBUS 3000, a specialized state-of-the-art vehicle, was announced.

As reported in a statement, the COBUS 3000, manufactured specifically for airport operations, has a nominal capacity of 110 passengers and has an advanced design that allows for faster boarding and disembarkation of passengers thanks to its doors and specialized configuration. This vehicle, known as an Aerocar, is mainly intended to serve regional flights that do not exceed 100 passengers, aligning with the needs of the airport and guaranteeing an efficient and comfortable service.

The official presentation of the COBUS 3000 was carried out by the Administrator of the Mérida International Airport, LAE. Oscar Carrillo Maldonado, and the Director of Regional Airports of ASUR, Lic. Héctor Navarrete Muñoz highlighted the importance of this incorporation as part of the commitment to improve the airport’s infrastructure and services.

“This new Aerocar represents a fundamental tool to strengthen our operation, especially on regional flights, offering passengers a fast, safe service adapted to the needs of modern times,” said Mr. Héctor Navarrete Muñoz.

For his part, Oscar Carrillo Maldonado emphasized: “The introduction of the COBUS 3000 reinforces our commitment to operational efficiency and passenger well-being. “It is a step forward towards the consolidation of the Mérida International Airport as one of the best in the southeast of the country.”
