Merida’s mayor opens a new avenue in the north of the city

To contribute to the orderly and sustainable growth of Mérida, the Municipal President, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, announced the opening and delivery of new road works that connect 39th Street with the city’s peripheral, in Sodzil Norte, which means greater security, mobility, vehicle accessibility and efficiency in travel times for Merida families.

 “Today this road will be open so that Merida residents can travel on it, seeking to relieve traffic here in the northern area of ​​the Mérida peripheral, allowing better vehicular flow, helping to reduce traffic in the city,” she stated.

This work will facilitate vehicular traffic and reduce travel times for everyone, a new avenue allowing moving around the city more easily, shortening distances, and serving as an alternative entry and exit route to the Mérida Peripheral.

 This avenue construction began in 2024 in the Sodzil Norte neighborhood located on Avenue 28 by 19 and 39, which has a length of 1 thousand 611.28 linear meters and an area of ​​14 thousand 662.65 square meters, with an investment of 17 million 271 thousand 576.77 weights.

 “Saving time is saving money. Their commitment and punctuality in paying property taxes are also reflected in the urban development of Mérida and their contribution invested in the order and improvement of the city,” she said.

Cecilia Patrón recalled that in the first four months of the municipal administration that she heads, savings of 150 million pesos were achieved that will be invested in the improvement and new roads in different parts of the city and its police stations.

He recalled that the construction of a new street recently began in the La Guadalupana neighborhood, in the south, in response to citizen demand for better and safer roads that raise the quality of life of families. Likewise, the Mayor announced that this month, street resurfacing works will begin within the city, while roads will be attended to in police stations through resources from Branch 33.

“For us, there are no excuses; We will continue working and collaborating with the different levels of government so that Mérida is a city with better infrastructure, quality roads, and more sustainable. “We are building the city that we all deserve,” said Patrón Laviada.
