President Claudia Sheinbaum reported that the country received 4,094 migrants deported by the United States, from January 20 to 26, mostly Mexicans.

“From January 20 to 26, 4,094 people have been received, the vast majority of them Mexicans,” she said at a press conference at the National Palace.

However, she said that this figure does not represent a significant increase in people deported by the United States government, compared to other periods.

She added that the governments of Mexico and the United States work together to solve the problem of migration.

“Following the phone call between Secretary of State Marco Rubio of the United States and Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente, we have a working group that is focused on resolving the migration situation and we hope that this group will expand to other issues that we consider important to deal with the United States government,” said President Claudia Sheinbaum.
