During the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2025, the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, announced a historic agreement with Grupo Hyatt and Grupo Piñero to construct 25 thousand new hotel rooms in the Mexican Caribbean.
This project represents a 30% increase in tourist reservations, consolidating Quintana Roo as a leader in international tourism.
In a statement, it was reported that the head of the state Executive highlighted that this strategic alliance reinforces the state’s position as a preferred destination for travelers from all over the world, attracting key investments for infrastructure development.
The construction of these new hotel rooms will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs and promote sustainable economic growth.
In addition, Governor Mara Lezama stressed that this initiative is part of the state government’s commitment to promote development that benefits both the tourism sector and local communities.
Finally, the agreement, signed with Mark Hoplamaizan, president of Grupo Hyatt, and Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero, reflects the confidence of the main hotel chains in Quintana Roo’s ability to continue growing as a world-class destination.
