Tired of the insecurity and lack of response from the authorities, residents of Dzoyolá decided to take measures on their own.

The residents kicked out two individuals who had invaded a home and carried out several suspicious episodes in the community.

The incident, which quickly went viral on social media through videos, showed residents of Dzoloyá tying up and interrogating the subjects, waiting for the authorities to intervene.

However, when they did not receive a response, they decided to expel them from town.

According to testimonies from residents, one of the men had been seen days before wearing women’s and girls’ clothing, which raised suspicions about them, and armed with machetes.

The community’s satiation peaked when they discovered that the individuals had occupied a home illegally.

“Here in Dzoloyá, we are not going to wait for them to continue robbing us,” stated one of the neighbors, reflecting the general feeling of the community.

Just on Monday night, January 27, residents of Tekit lynched and burned a young man alive after he murdered a woman in her sixties.
