A school teacher died while teaching on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Technical Secondary School #3, located in Calkiní, Campeche.
The unfortunate event occurred in a classroom on the second floor of the building, during a class with second-grade students.
According to the local media report, an accident with school furniture would have caused the teacher, identified as Omar M.B.R., approximately 53 years old, to suffer a blow to the head, which caused a seizure.
The tragic event occurred in the middle of class, so the teenagers, frightened to see that he was not moving, notified other teachers and the school’s principal.
Red Cross paramedics and police officers quickly arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of the teacher after assessing him.
Staff from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) arrived at the school and began the corresponding investigations to clarify what happened.
Teachers and administrative staff from the Technical Secondary School number 3, “Julio Macossay Negrín” in the municipality of Calkiní, said goodbye to teacher Omar Marciano Bojórquez Rabelo on Thursday, January 23, in a posthumous tribute with the body present at the main entrance of the school where teachers and family members of the mentor were present, to then transfer him to a chapel where they celebrated a mass and then the coffin was taken to the municipal cemetery.
