The State Government of Yucatan, in collaboration with the Federal government, is developing a comprehensive strategy to guarantee the safe and dignified return of migrants from the state from the United States, focusing on their social and economic reintegration.

As part of these actions, the first permanent session of the “Interinstitutional Roundtable and Actions to Assist Our Returning Compatriots” was held in Merida.

This roundtable brings together various state and federal agencies, headed by the Institute for the Development of Mayan Culture (Indemaya), to coordinate support in areas such as health, education, economy, and well-being, especially in light of the increase in deportations.

Within the framework of the federal strategy “Mexico embraces you,” the opening of a One-Stop Office for Migrants in Mérida was announced, where procedures and legal advice will be offered.

In addition, Limbert Arias Alcocer, originally from Cenotillo and a resident of the United States, was appointed as the government’s official liaison with the migrant community, committing to open an office in San Francisco, California, to strengthen care.

The state government reaffirms its commitment to the 350,000 Yucatecans abroad, ensuring support through Indemaya and promoting a direct connection to address their needs.
