In the framework of the World Day of Environmental Education, celebrated on January 26, the Water Culture Department of the Motul City Council, in coordination with the Mario H. Cuevas school, held a contest of mural newspapers with the theme “Care for Water”.
The event was attended by councilor Armando Barroso, representing the mayor Lucio Estrella Canul, as well as Miriam Canto, director of Water Culture of this municipality.
Seven teams participated in the contest, and the three best works will be awarded. The winners will be announced next Monday, Feb. 3, during the school tribute, thus reinforcing the importance of recognizing the effort and commitment of students to the care of water and the environment.
With this initiative, the government seeks to promote a culture of respect and environmental responsibility in the new generations, highlighting the importance of preserving natural resources.
