The Mexican Navy, through the Ninth Naval Zone, carried out the rescue of eight foreigners who were adrift about 60 nautical miles (approximately 111 kilometers) north of Progreso.

The rescue was activated after receiving a report from the United States Coast Guard, which warned about a vessel in a critical situation. This warning was issued after the ship Catherine-Grace sighted the vessel 198 nautical miles (366 kilometers) from the port of Progreso.

In response, the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) deployed a Coastal Patrol equipped with specialized rescue personnel and a Naval Health team.
