Tizimín, an emblematic municipality of Yucatán, is part of an ambitious tourism project that promises to change the face of the destination and benefit all residents.
The director of Tourism of Tizimín, Gabriel Aguiñaga Medina, said that the plan seeks to reactivate the local economy by promoting tourism, highlighting the infrastructure that includes hotels, restaurants, and other services.
With this reactivation, tourism will be a key driver for different industries and, above all, for local entrepreneurs in the region.
One of the main attractions of this month is the traditional Feria de Reyes, which will be open until January 19. Visitors still have a week to enjoy the vibrant festive atmosphere of Tizimín. At the fair, you can find massive shows, free concerts, cultural displays, and, of course, one of the most anticipated attractions: a visit to the Sanctuary of the Three Holy Kings, which remains open during these days.
Among the most exciting projects for the near future is the creation of tourist routes that connect the various attractions of the municipality and its surroundings. Tizimín has a rich tourist offer that includes cenotes, archaeological sites, and the port of El Cuyo. Aguiñaga explained that this route will include visits to districts such as Tixcancal, Chan Cenote, and Popolnah, to attract more tourists both national and international.
The municipality has taken important steps in improving its tourist infrastructure. Currently, it has 38 hotels, including local inns and boutique hotels, which give a total of 115 rooms, with a capacity to receive up to 600 people.
With projects such as tourist routes and the improvement of local infrastructure, the municipality is ready to receive more visitors and offer them an unforgettable experience.
