The death of the woman rescued from drowning in the sea on Saturday, January 4th has been confirmed, after losing her life when she was near the hospital.
The now deceased was identified as L. S. C., 59 years old, who had entered the sea from the boardwalk of this coastal municipality, near the intersection with 80th Street, after having ingested alcoholic beverages.
Despite the rough sea, she went in and at one point began to flail about; she was rescued and taken to land by civilians who were nearby, who called 911 and placed her on the shore unconscious.
After the call for help, an ambulance arrived, whose SSP paramedics applied resuscitation techniques to put her on a stretcher.
Immediately after, still unconscious but with weak vital signs, she was urgently transferred to the city of Mérida, where unfortunately her heart stopped beating upon arriving at the hospital.
