The Government of Yucatán reaffirms its commitment to the economic development of its tourism offer by announcing its participation in the International Tourism Fair 2025 (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain. This event, considered one of the most important globally, will be the ideal showcase to present the “Mayan Renaissance” to more than 100 thousand attendees.
Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena highlighted that FITUR will not only serve to promote tourism but also to attract investments in key sectors such as aerospace, agroindustrial, and logistics. “We want the benefits of tourism to reach our native communities and for foreign investment to strengthen the local economy,” he said.
One of the main projects presented in Madrid and Valencia is the Progreso High Sea Port, a strategic initiative that seeks to position Yucatán as a key logistics and commercial center in the region. This project will be essential to promote international connectivity and the development of new businesses.
The Yucatecan delegation will be headed by Governor Díaz Mena and will have the participation of prominent officials such as Ermilo Novelo Barrera, Secretary of Economic Development; Darío Flota Ocampo, Secretary of Tourism, and Dafne López Martínez, general coordinator of advisors.
FITUR 2025 will bring together more than 9,000 companies from 150 countries, consolidating itself as the most relevant event for the tourism sector.
